Stock for Sale

Make sure that the pig that you are proposing to buy is fully registered and ear marked. Registration is the responsibility of the BREEDER.

Please note that black and white pigs, or pigs with white patches on the body or whorls/roses on the back should NEVER be registered under any circumstances.

It is a Society requirement that unregistered stock listed on these pages should at least be birth notified.

Do not be tempted to breed from unregistered stock. If the breeder hasn’t registered it, it probably isn’t suitable for breeding.

When starting out on your pig breeding adventure it is important to make sure you are buying REGISTERED pigs and not just ‘pure bred’ or pigs the seller are claiming to be pedigree.

Registered pigs are registered with the British Pig Association (BPA) which holds the only official herd book of the breed. Any other documentation is void irrelevant and pigs not in the BPA herd book and not contributing to preserving the breed.

When buying a pig for breeding ask for proof that it is registered with the BPA – there will be a registration certificate (or birth notification information if buying weaners for meat). Any other pig is just a pig.
